Paris!!!

We went to Paris last weekend and it was absolutely wonderful!  We hopped on the Eurostar train in London and were in Paris in two and a half hours.  We lucked out with beautiful sunny weather.  We had such a great time!  See pics below!

After checking in at our hotel, our first stop was the Louvre Museum.  Even though Stephen isn't into art, he was excited to see this museum.

We entered here at the famous symbol of the Louvre, the glass pyramid.  Somehow we lucked out and got to skip the queue because we had a stroller.

The Louvre is such an enormous museum that we had to pick and choose what to see.  Of course we saw the Mona Lisa (in the background).  Not sure why it's famous, yet we went there all the same!

Unfortunately Tyson's diapers don't get changed nearly as frequently as they should when we're traveling.  I knew we had waited too long when I was holding Tyson and suddenly felt warm water seeping through my shirt!  We were a little more attentive after that.

We took a bike taxi from the Louvre to the Arc de Triomphe.  It was so fun!  It kind of reminded me of mototaxis in Peru, though riding in a mototaxi through the Amazon jungle is a whole different kind of experience!

Tyson loved it and laughed the whole way down the Champs Elysees.

Our next stop was the Arc de Triomphe.

Here's the Champs Elysees (a famous street in Paris) from the top of the Arc de Triomphe.

We got a great view of the Eiffel Tower!

Next we went to the Eiffel Tower.  I love this picture of Tyson looking at the Eiffel Tower through Stephen's sunglasses.  We waited in line for about a hundred years.

Here's a view of the Champ de Mars, the park in front of the Eiffel Tower, from the Eiffel Tower.

Here we are on the Eiffel Tower.  Kind of off topic, but let me just put a plug in for the Ergo baby carrier I'm wearing in this picture.  I'm completely obsessed with it and Tyson loves it too!  I can wear him in it for hours and he never gets heavy.  It's the perfect travel companion.

Another view from the Eiffel Tower.

We got down as the sun was starting to set.  What a full day!

The next morning we visited the lovely Sacre Cour cathedral.  It was gorgeous inside and out.  We stopped and participated in mass for a little while.

Next we visited the amazing Notre Dame cathedral.  It completely lives up to your expectations!

Here's one of the stunning rose windows.  A mass was going on when we were visiting the church.

We went up to the bell tower of Notre Dame.  Last time I visited Paris we waited in line to go up the towers for a couple of hours!  Somehow we once again managed to skip the super long line because we had a baby ha ha!  Traveling with kids can be difficult, but it also definitely helps sometimes!

You can see the gargoyles in the background.

Made me want to watch The Hunchback of Notre Dame again. :)

Here's a view of the Seine River from the towers.

We went up and down so many stairs! It was fun.

Next we visited the love lock bridge behind Notre Dame.  As a surprise I had brought two locks with me.  We locked our locks together and to the bridge and then threw the keys into the Seine River.  This is a fun tradition many couples do over here in Europe.  Most people only use one lock but the locks I bought came in a pack of two so we used them both. :)  It is a symbol of your hearts being locked together, never to be unlocked!

Here are our locks.  It was hard to find a place to lock them on the bridge!

We were holding the keys to get a picture and Tyson reached in to grab the keys and I got this shot. :)

Let's be honest, traveling Europe isn't super fun for Tyson.  We stopped at this park for him to have some play time.

Next we visited Saint Chapelle.  When I went to Paris in 2007 Saint Chapelle was in the plans but we never made it here.  I had been wanting to come back ever since.  To be honest, it was pretty, but there was so much restoration going on in the church that it kind of took away from the beauty of it.  But glad we went anyways!

As a finale, we took an hour-long boat cruise along the Seine River!  So fun!

And of course I had to get a nutella crepe!  Yum!

Tyson loved having so much dad time!

Traveling is the best!  Can't wait for our next trip!
