Angels Among Us
I just wanted to thank the unseen angels among us who made it possible for my sister's baby girl to receive treatment from a highly skilled doctor in Boston. About a week ago my sister's 4-month baby girl was diagnosed with saggital craniosynostosis and needs to have a surgery done. My sister is on state insurance and so her medical care had to be done in state. While there is a neurosurgeon in Vermont who could do it, there was a much better one in Boston who could do the procedure laproscopically. It looked like it would be impossible to get it approved for little Ashlyn to receive treatment in Boston. However, through different connections, Shannon ended up connecting with a support group for this condition on a cranio kids website. Shannon posted about the issues she was having with insurance and people starting acting, giving suggestions, calling people, and helping in ways we don't even know. Out of no where Shannon received a call today saying everything had been approved and to head out to Boston. Heavenly Father truly answers our prayers, and oftentimes does it through the angels among us. Feeling so grateful today!

What a blessing! I hope everything with the surgery goes well. We thought Dallin might have has that when he was about four months old because his occipital bone really stuck out and the suture was really pronounced. It looked like his brain was pushing on his skull funny due to a prematurely closed suture. We had a CT and everything. There's one doctor on Oahu that does hose surgeries and he was able to diagnose Dallin through the imaging. Turns out Dallin just had a funny shaped head for awhile, the suture was still open. Now his head looks normal, but I was getting really worked up about what we might have to do and everything to have surgery on another island. We will pray for Shannon and her baby.
