Bain & Company in Dallas, Texas

Stephen and I spent the weekend in Dallas to check out a job offer Stephen has from Bain and Company. We left early Friday morning from Salt Lake. We first went to the Bain office where we received a tour of the office. Stephen and the other 25 students who Bain has offered jobs to then had an afternoon of introductions, presentations, information sessions, etc. I spent the afternoon with two of the wives of BYU alumni who work at Bain. Both the wives are in their twenties and have two or three young kids. We went out to lunch and then they took me to their apartment complex where lots of LDS Bain employees live. Friday evening we enjoyed a dinner at the House of Blues and then attended a concert there.

On Saturday morning we ate a brunch at the best restaurant in the entire world. A bunch of the offerees then either played soccer or went to an art museum. Stephen and I received a tour of potential housing in the Dallas area per our request. Friday evening we went to dinner at a nice restaurant, dessert at another restaurant, and then attended the annual Bain Red Party. The theme was 1920's and lots of people dressed up. Stephen and I didn't have any costumes to wear, but luckily they provided hats and bead necklaces at the party. We enjoyed socializing with lots of the Bain employees there. On Sunday morning we attended sacrament meeting and then went to a breakfast at the hotel with the rest of the offerees. We then took a taxi to the airport and flew home.

It was a great weekend and we had fun receiving such special treatment. :) I didn't mention that we stayed at the Ritz Carlton hotel (see pics below), received gift packages when we arrived, and flew first class on our airplane (also see pics below). Pretty sure that will be the only time we ever fly first class in our lives! Basically our whole weekend we received super special treatment, ate more than we ever eaten in our entire lives, and socialized more in one weekend than we thought possible. Bain sure put forth quite the effort to show us a good time.

Now we're back in Provo and back to peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches. :) We're still not sure what the future holds for us as to career decisions, but we will let you all know when we decide!
