Weekend in New York City!

We just returned from a fabulous weekend in New York City!  Neither of us had ever been there and it was the trip of a lifetime!  We arrived on Thursday around noon and stayed until Sunday afternoon.  Though we were only there a few days, we got to see and do a lot!  Below are pictures of some of the fun things we did.

We saw the Statue of Liberty!

That's the Statue of Liberty in the background.

We ate at lots of fun local restaurants.

Here we are at Grand Central Station.

We made good use of the subway - definitely a cheaper way to go!

We visited Ground Zero and saw the beautiful memorial.

There was a huge fountain for each building.

We went to Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square.

We saw the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway!  It was amazing!

Stephen did some networking on Friday - here he is all dressed up to meet with people.

Shara went to the Museum of Natural History while Stephen was out working.

More of the Museum of Natural History.  Shara also went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

We walked Times Square at night!  What an adventure!

We went to the Hershey's Store on Times Square.

We also went to the M&M's store - what a fun place!

We browsed through a few shops on 5th avenue and marveled at how much money people spend shopping.

We visited the famous St. Patrick's cathedral (which is under construction).

We went to the Rockefeller Center.

We saw the Empire State Building (but didn't go up because the fog was so bad).

We visited Little Italy and tried a delicious chocolate cheesecake.

We walked through Chinatown.

We walked the famous Brooklyn Bridge.

We got a neat view of Manhattan in the fog.

We walked Times Square at night again!
