Trip to Oregon!

We just returned from a fabulous trip to Oregon! We left on Saturday and spent the first few days in Canby where we visited Stephen's sister Janeece, brother-in-law Dusty, and their adorable children Karl and Phillip. We also visited Stephen's sister Lynette who is leaving on a mission to Peru next Wednesday. We had a great time golfing with Lynette, chatting with Janeece and Dusty, and playing with our nephews. We were also very excited to be able to attend the wedding reception of a friend of Shara's from her grad program. On Sunday we had a wonderful dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Blunck as well as Uncle Jeff, Aunt Jolene and their kids Aubrey and Isaac. Shara was also very excited to mow the Blunck's big backyard on a riding lawnmower!

On Tuesday and Wednesday we spent time in eastern Oregon visiting some of Stephen's relatives and one of Stephen's highschool friends named Robert. Our first stop on Tuesday was in Walla Walla, Washington, where we had lunch and enjoyed chatting with Robert. We then drove to Hermiston and visited Grandma and Grandpa Hawman. We were also given a wonderful tour of their farm by cousin Alex. He taught us how to pick a good watermelon, showed us how to dig potatoes, and taught Shara how to shoot a shotgun! That evening we went out for a Chinese dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Hawman and then went over to Aunt Susan and Uncle Tad's house for the evening and night. We enjoyed visiting with them and were grateful for their hospitality! On Wednesday morning we had blueberry pancakes with with Aunt Susan and Grandma and Grandpa Hawman. After that we spent a couple fun hours chatting with Aunt Susan and getting to know her cute grandkids Sydney and Isaac. We then drove on to Grass Valley where we spent a few hours chatting with Aunt Judy and Uncle Alan. We sat out in the beautiful hot sunshine and sipped lemonade together. We then drove over to Aunt Linda's and Uncle Larry's house and had a great time chatting with them. Uncle Larry also gave us a great tour of their farm. Before driving back to Canby that evening we stopped off at the Sherman County Fair and had a great time watching donkey basketball!

Unfortunately we did not bring a camera to Oregon. :( But we did get a few shots on Lynette's camera. We are excited to spend the next few days with Lynette in Utah before she goes on her mission!
